TimePlan apprentice Mads Brandbjerg Nielsen has developed a unique update tool during his apprenticeship at TimePlan Software in Aalborg. Now that Mads has passed his exam as a Data Technician it has earned him a full-time contract as a software developer to implement the new tool and contribute to the continuous development of TimePlan.
“Mads has been a student with us for a year and has shown the right attitude. We believe that this new TimePlan Update Tool can update our customer’s systems in an easy and effective way, says Finn Harsfort, Development Manager at TimePlan Software.
The Aalborg-company delivers the software product TimePlan for employee scheduling, time & attendance, and HR administration to over 400 customers in 23 countries.
Last Friday, Finn and Mads attended the closing reception at TECH COLLEGE in Aalborg, where Mads was presented with his certificate after four years of study and practice periods as data technician. Mads’ specialty is programming within Data and Communication.
Attention to operations and development
Mads, 26, has helped develop TimePlan and also worked with Nikolaj Bergman, who is responsible for the server farms that host TimePlan customer data.
“Nikolaj and I have created an infrastructure that makes it easier to host TimePlan’s data improving and enhancing our customers experience, says Mads, who has also handled other support tasks.
“The fact that Mads has a sense of not only the development, but also the operation of TimePlan is a great strength,” says Finn Harsfort.
Finding solutions for everyday problems
Mads heard about TimePlan through a school training instructor who knows an employee at TimePlan Software.
“It can be hard to find internships in Denmark. Many IT companies do not necessarily take on apprentices. I am very happy that TimePlan has taken me in, and the opportunities it has given me. It’s very exciting to see how a medium-sized Danish company services many big customers in Denmark and internationally, and to help contribute in finding new solutions for everyday problems”, says Mads.
He is now taking a well-earned week’s holiday before he starts his full-time employment with TimePlan Software in Aalborg.
